Open the app
Get the app

On your phone, in three taps.

Far & Found isn't in the App Store or on Google Play. You add it to your Home Screen from your browser, and it opens full screen from its own icon, like any app.

iPhone and iPad

Share, then Add to Home Screen.

An iPhone never offers to install a web app. You do it from Safari's Share menu.

Chrome on an iPhone works the same way: Share, then Add to Home Screen.

  1. Open the app in SafariGo to app.farandfound.app. It has to be Safari itself, or Chrome: see below if you came from Instagram.
  2. Tap ShareThe square with an arrow pointing up, in Safari's bar. If you can't see it, tap the three dots first.
  3. Tap Add to Home ScreenScroll down the list to find it.
  4. Tap AddThen open Far & Found from your Home Screen and sign in there.

Came from Instagram or Facebook?

A link tapped inside Instagram, Facebook, Threads or TikTok opens in that app's own browser, and that browser can't add anything to your Home Screen.

Tap the three dots at the corner of the screen, then Open in browser. It may say Open in external browser, or Open in Safari. Then follow the steps for your phone.

The app's sign-in page notices this too, and offers a button that opens it in Safari or Chrome.

Android

Chrome offers it.

On Android the sign-in page has an Install button, and Chrome does the rest.

  1. Open the app in ChromeGo to app.farandfound.app.
  2. Tap InstallIt's on the sign-in page. Or open Chrome's menu, the three dots beside the address, and tap Install app; it may say Add to Home screen.
  3. Tap Install againThen open Far & Found from your Home screen.

What you get for it.

  • Full screenIt opens from its own icon, with no address bar in the way.
  • AlertsOn an iPhone, alerts only work from the Home Screen. An alert says who wrote to you, never what they wrote.
  • Nothing to updateThere's no download from a store. Every time you open it, it's the newest version.
