How Far & Found handles what you tell us. Plain words, and nothing here that the app does not do. Last changed 10 October 2026.
Who we are
Far & Found is run by IAstudio in Brunei Darussalam. Write to us at [email protected] about anything on this page, and a person answers.
What we keep, and why
On farandfound.app. If you join the waitlist: your email and the route you want (from where, to where), to tell you when a shopper opens it. If you applied to sell on the site before the app opened: your name, where you live, the route, your Instagram, Threads or TikTok handle and your email, so we can look at your application; that application comes with you into the app when you sign in with the same email.
In the app. Your email, which is how you sign in (a six-digit code by email; there is no password). Your name and the country you live in. What you do in the app: the things you ask for and order, your chats with shoppers, the photos and videos you send, your ratings and reviews. If you sell: your trips, your shops, your stories, your tips, where you sell now and how many batches you have run, and which notifications you want.
For safety. With each sign-in code and each session we note the time, the network address it came from and the kind of browser. Codes last ten minutes and allow five tries; sessions last thirty days in the app.
Alerts on a phone. If you turn alerts on, the address your browser gives us to deliver them to. Nothing else about the phone.
How you use the app. The app notes which screens you open and what you do in it (a request, a quote, a trip opened, a message sent, a story posted, the guide read), with the time, tied to your account. We look at it to see what works and what doesn't, and to help a shopper or a buyer who is stuck. It stays in our own database, read only by Far & Found's staff, is never sold or shared, and is kept for ninety days. You can switch it off in Settings at any time; from then on nothing more is noted.
Our own tools. Far & Found's staff see accounts, applications, the waitlist and how each account uses the app in a private tool, to approve shoppers, check scam alerts, help people and keep the place safe. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and loading times on our pages; it sets no cookie and follows nobody across sites.
What we never do
- We do not sell what you tell us, to anyone, ever.
- We do not build advertising profiles, and we show no advertising.
- We do not share your details with other companies, except the ones that run Far & Found for us, named below, and only as far as running it needs.
- We do not read your chats, except when you report one or we are asked to look into a scam.
Who sees what
Buyers cannot be searched. Your name is shown only to the shoppers you order from or message. A trip group counts its members and never names them. Your ratings are shown with your first name only.
Shoppers are public once approved. Your name, your line, your trips and what you take, your shops, your ratings and reviews, and your stories (to signed-in buyers who follow you, have an order with you, or are looking at your route). Buyers see how many watched a story, never who. A Premium shopper can share a page link that anyone can open, signed in or not.
Between you and your shopper. What you send in a chat, a receipt for a deposit included, is seen by the two of you. A receipt is tied to its order so the shopper can mark it paid.
Where it is kept, and who runs it for us
- Cloudflare runs our pages and the app, in its worldwide network, and keeps photos and videos in its Asia-Pacific storage.
- Neon keeps the database, in Singapore.
- Resend sends our emails, from Tokyo.
- Google Workspace is our inbox.
Each works under its own privacy terms, and each holds only what its job needs.
Cookies and what the browser keeps
One cookie signs you in to the app, for thirty days, and is sent to no other site. The app keeps a few settings in your own browser: light or dark, which tab you were on, what the shopper guide has ticked off. The landing page sets no cookie at all. No tracking cookies anywhere.
How long
- Sign-in codes: ten minutes.
- Stories: twenty-four hours on show. The file stays in our storage until our clean-up removes it, and nobody but its shopper can open it after it ends.
- How you use the app: ninety days.
- The waitlist: until the route opens and we have told you, or until you ask us to remove you.
- Everything else: for as long as your account exists.
Your rights
Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it: write to [email protected] from the email you signed up with. We answer within thirty days, and we delete within thirty days of your asking, except what the law makes us keep. Your chats stay in the other person's chat, as a letter you sent stays with its reader, with your name taken off.
If you are in Brunei Darussalam, the Personal Data Protection Order applies to how we handle your details, and you can take a complaint to the authority responsible for it. Wherever you are, you can write to us first, and we will put it right.
Children
Far & Found is for people of eighteen and over. We do not knowingly keep details about anyone younger; tell us and we delete them.
